Overview

Every floor needs a clean edge. Baseboard covers the junction between the floor and the wall, and shoemoulding closes the small gap at the base of the trim. Done well, neither draws attention — the room simply looks finished.

This is precise work: consistent heights, tight mitres at corners, straight runs along uneven walls, and clean lines where the trim meets door casings and stair skirts.
